Fear keeps many of us from doing what we know is right. Fear of failure, fear of change and fear of the unknown. We must guard our hearts and minds against fear because fear and discouragement are deterrents to the promised land.
II Timothy 1:7 says “For God did not give us a spirit of timidity, but a spirit of power, of love and of self-discipline.” Share your dreams and thoughts with those that will encourage you and build you up. Avoid those that only offer doubt and confusion.
Fear immobilizes you and keeps you from reaching your full potential and discouragement prevents hope. God understands that problems in our life can cause us to be discouraged and afraid. However, he tells us not to be afraid because he is with us and he takes the burden of all our troubles.
Do not be afraid or discouraged, for the LORD your GOD is with you wherever you go. Joshua 1:9
The LORD himself goes before you and will be with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged. Deuteronomy 31:8
