Jealousy and envy presents itself in just about every aspect of our lives. One might be jealous of another persons possessions or wealth. Or jealous of their beauty, health, achievements, job, marriage, social standing and the list goes on!

Overcoming Jealousy

1. Stop comparing yourself to other people. God has different plans for each of us. What God has planned for your life is not the same as what he has planned for someone else. We each have our own journey to fulfill.

2. Focus on something besides yourself. Live your life to be a blessing to someone else. Change your priorities from yourself to others in need. There is always someone that is in need of help. Helping others makes you more appreciative of what you do have!

3. Focus on what is positive in your life. God has blessed you with many wonderful things in your life. Focus on the positive and be thankful for what you have.

4. Change the way you think. It’s not what you don’t have that you should focus on but rather what you do have that you should value and appreciate.

We can always count on him. He is our here and now and our future. He will always be with us and guide us. His love is always there unconditionally. His word never changes. He is our one constant in a ever changing world.

Living a well-rounded life gives us the chance to make the most of every opportunity God sends our way. The only way to create a balanced life is to have Christ at the center of it and to do that we need to “Seek ye first the kingdom of God and his righteousness.”

One key to a balanced life if to focus on the present. Do not worry about yesterday or tomorrow. “Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own.” ~Matthew 6:34. We should learn from the past, live in the present and plan for the future.
