Anything that will help me save money is a good thing! I love reading money saving blogs and Joannie at Pays 2 Save offers lots of tips on getting deals, saving with coupons and finding freebie offers! Joannie is a Christian, wife, mother, business woman, and student! She was in the Air Force for 8 years and was a licensed practical nurse. Impressive!

This is a great website if you like to save money with coupons. If you have trouble finding coupons that you need for your favorite products then check out her coupon database. It lists many different types of coupons and where they can be found, what date they were put out, the coupons value and the expiration date. If you are new to couponing start with the coupon 101 tab where you can learn coupon basics including the most commonly used abbreviations, coupon policies, and Sunday coupon previews. I fall in the beginner category so this is where I’ll start!

She also lists any great freebie offers she finds. Recent ones included a free candle sample at NorthWood Candle Compay, one free sample of Shout Wipes and Publix free $50 Coupon Booklet (they are all gone now). Publix is my favorite place to buy groceries so I wish I had seen that one before they were all gone! I love getting free samples of anything (I’m not picky) so I can try it out to see if I like it before I purchase it. Nothing worse then spending money on something and then finding out you don’t like it.

I need to squeeze as much as I can out of my grocery budget so I’ll be checking back often so I can save money. Her site is full of good deals, tips and coupons so be sure and check it out. You can also sign up for email updates while you are there so you don’t miss any special offers!

The household budget is stretched thin for everyone right now and saving money is a high priority. Families are experiencing pay cuts, job losses and the rising costs of living expenses.

Try these money saving tips to stretch your family dollars.

Clean out your closet and have a yard sale or take it to a consignment shop. This is a quick and easy way to get some extra cash.

Drink water. Drinking water instead of soda not only saves you money but is better for your health.

Shop around for insurance. Insurance prices vary for the same coverage from one company to the next. It pays to shop around before renewing your policy to make sure you are getting the best coverage at the best price. This includes all types of insurance including, home, auto and life insurance.

Take care of what you have. This is one of the easiest ways to save. Always take care of and maintain what you have to make it last longer. The longer you use something the more value you get. Maintain your home and car to protect your investment and save you money in the long run.

Make a list. Never go to the grocery store without a list. Without a list you will spend more money. Making a list allows you to plan ahead and you can take coupons with you for additional savings.

Use coupons. Using coupons has never been easier. There are tons of websites offering free coupons or discount codes for just about anything you might want to buy. Some to try are Coupons.com, couponmom.com, hotcouponworld.com, and CoolSavings.com.

Make eliminating debt a high priority for 2009. With the economy in decline and job losses on the rise it is definitely time to get your personal finances in order.

There are simple ways to eliminate debt and avoid accumulating more debt. But it takes discipline and determination. In our society debt has become a way of life and most of us have become use to living with debt. But that can and should change.

If we are spending tomorrow’s money today how can we effectively be managing our future? God expects us to carefully manage our personal finances and to give to those less fortunate. How can we do that if we are constantly living beyond our means?

2009 Money Resolutions

1. Spend less money. This is the only way to get expenses under control and start saving money.

2. Be a better steward of the money you are blessed with. Be accountable for what you spend, save and give to others.

3. No more impulse buying. This is the hardest for most people to get control of. Impulse spending happens everywhere; the grocery store, department stores and online. Resist the urge and think before you buy.

4. Avoid credit cards. Credit card debt is the hardest debt to get out of but the easiest debt to accumulate. Restaurant meals, gas and department store purchases are the most common items charged. Use cash or debt cards instead.

5. Save money. Make it a high priority to save money from every paycheck. You will be amazed at how quickly you can save a thousand dollars with little effort.

These are just a few of the changes you can make to help get your personal finances in order this year.
